At the end of January into February, Dr. Emde & some of his family again traveled with the high school students from Greeneville Adventist Academy (GAA) to Paraguay. As in years past, his wife, Angela, a high school teacher at GAA, was in charge of the trip. They again joined forces with an organization called Maranatha International which works in many countries all over the world. Maranatha mainly focuses on digging wells and building churches, schools, and medical clinics to those in need.
As in past trips, the team had four different projects. One team laid the block walls of a new church in Tacuaraty, Paraguay. Another team went with Dr. Emde to provide vision clinics at six different Seventh-day Adventist church locations in the surrounding cities near Curuguaty, Paraguay. We saw 832 patients in six days of clinics! Approximately 979 glasses and sunglasses were dispensed to those in need as well as personal care items! At the end of the work day, VBS programs and evangelistic series were provided for local churches. Students were involved and rotated through all of the projects. It was such a blessing to help those in need in Paraguay and also get to visit Iguazu Falls from both the Brazil side and the Argentina side! Comments are closed.
